Jay and Melissa first crossed paths in Prague in 1996. Melissa was on break from a semester in Belgium, while Jay was behind the stick at one of Europe's first cocktail hot spots. Three years later, these two intrepid travelers met again coincidentally in a small surf town on the east coast of Australia and they have been together ever since. They have traveled the South Pacific, Europe and Western Canada, working in many amazing restaurants and bars along the way.
The pair moved to San Francisco in 2002, and they were immediately inspired by the local restaurant scene's commitment to fresh ingredients, innovative combinations and elevated service. After working obsessively to create a unique cocktail bar for their wedding, they found that beverage catering options lacked the same ideals that make local restaurants distinct. Soon after the wedding, drink. was born. Their love of travel, wine and spirits is still reflected in the creativity and care they bring to their clients' events.
