JAY ESOPENKO  (Head Mixologist, Sommelier):  Born in Jamaica and raised in Alberta, Canada, Jay has tended bar and worked in fine dining around the globe before moving to San Francisco in 2002. His cocktail recipes have been featured in publications such as Marin Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle and 7X7, and have been served in cocktail bars and restaurants all over the Bay Area. His passion for creating and mixing cocktails is only surpassed by his love of drinking them. He is a certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

MELISSA GUGNI
  (Event Coordinator):  With a background in event production paired with over 15 years experience in virtually every level of hospitality, Melissa brings a discerning eye for detail, a listening ear to ensure every desire  is executed perfectly and a constant thirst for finding the best cocktails and wine for each event.  Managing a boutique cocktail catering company lets Melissa stay personally involved in every aspect of each event, and she revels in the creative process that each party brings.

Our Story 
J
ay and Melissa first crossed paths in Prague in 1996. Melissa was on break from a semester in Belgium, while Jay was behind the stick at one of Europe's first cocktail hot spots. Three years later, these two intrepid travelers met again coincidentally in a small surf town on the east coast of Australia and they have been together ever since. They have traveled the South Pacific, Europe and Western Canada, working in many amazing restaurants and bars along the way.
The pair moved to San Francisco in 2002, and they were immediately inspired by the local restaurant scene's commitment to fresh ingredients, innovative combinations and elevated service. After working obsessively to create a unique cocktail bar for their wedding, they found that beverage catering options lacked the same ideals that make local restaurants distinct. Soon after the wedding, drink. was born. Their love of travel, wine and spirits is still reflected in the creativity and care they bring to their clients' events.

Our guests keep commenting on how impressive your set up was and how amazing the drinks were. Our oldest guest said that those were the best drinks he has ever had at any party in his life (and he would know!). Planning this party was a bit like planning a wedding for me and you made this part of it very simple---a huge stress relief for me. Nicole Reyes
